  • 2 cups shredded sweetened coconut

For the Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Bake the Cake: Prepare and bake the chocolate cake as per the package instructions in two 8- or 9-inch round pans. Let the cakes cool completely.
  2. Make the Coconut Filling: In a bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk and shredded coconut until combined.
  3. Layer the Cake: Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread the coconut filling evenly on top. Place the second cake layer over the filling.
  4. Prepare the Ganache: Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering. Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth.
  5. Frost the Cake: Pour the ganache over the assembled cake, spreading it evenly to let it drip down the sides.
